Disarmament and International Security Committee

15 Single Delegations

Disarmament and International Security Committee, the First Committee of the UN General Assembly, focuses on global security, disarmament, and arms control. Delegates will debate issues like nuclear non-proliferation, cyber warfare, and conflict prevention, drafting non-binding resolutions that shape international security policies. Delegates must use diplomacy and negotiation to balance national interests with global stability, making DISEC a key committee for tackling major security challenges.

My name is Sravanya Karunanidhi and I'm an IB sophomore at JR Tucker High School. I've been involved in Model UN since I was in 8th grade. This club has really helped me become more aware of global issues and refine my public speaking skills. Outside of MUN, I'm quite the foodie who loves experimenting with recipes and sharing them with my friends. I also love hanging out with my friends and making new memories. I’m excited for all the debates ahead and can’t wait to see what we’ll achieve together!

I am a 9th grader at Tucker and I am super passionate about Model UN. I've been doing MUN since 6th grade and have done many conferences, and love participating in any type of public speaking. Right now, I'm part of TSA and FBLA too. Two things that I love doing are cooking and playing the piano. I also enjoy singing classical Indian music and I've been singing for the past 8 years.
