Conference Policies

Dress Code & Attire

In order to uphold the standards of professionalism, decorum, and diplomatic representation expected at Tucker’s Model United Nations (TUCMUN), all participants are required to adhere to Western business attire. TUCMUN reserves the right to request that any participant modify their attire if it is deemed inappropriate or disruptive to the conference environment.

Technology

TUCMUN enforces a strict No-Technology Policy during all formal committee sessions. The use of electronic devices is prohibited while committee is in session. Delegates are expected to rely on printed materials, handwritten notes, and verbal communication.

AI & Position Papers

All written work submitted by delegates, including position papers, working papers, and draft resolutions, must be original and properly cited where applicable. Plagiarism or misrepresentation of sources constitutes a serious violation of conference policy and may result in disciplinary action, including disqualification from awards or removal from the conference, including the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This policy applies to all delegates and covers all forms of AI assistance, including but not limited to AI-generated speeches, position papers, resolutions, or amendments. Position papers submitted by delegates will be assessed for both plagiarism and use of AI. Chairs and conference staff reserve the right to investigate suspected use of AI and request clarification or resubmission of materials.

Other Conduct Policies

Participants must treat one another with courtesy and consideration at all times. Disruptive behavior, personal attacks, discriminatory remarks, or any form of harassment (including verbal, physical, or written) will not be tolerated. Delegates are expected to engage in debate with civility, listen attentively to others, and respond with diplomacy. The use of explicit language is strictly prohibited.

The TUCMUN Secretariat and conference staff reserve the right to enforce these conduct policies and take appropriate action in response to violations. This may include verbal warnings, removal from committee sessions, revocation of awards (disqualification), and/or dismissal from the conference.
